Katie Couric is in quarantine after a viral Twitter thread led her to make her decision. Katie revealed that she had spent time with New York and New Jersey port authority chief Rick Cotton, who was recently diagnosed with coronavirus. Although Katie thinks her chances of getting Covid-19 disease are slim, she goes into self-quarantine to be safe. The news that Rick Cotton has tested positive comes after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo held a press conference where he criticized the CDC and President Trump for the lack of coronavirus tests available for those of the State.

Fans were surprised when Katie casually mentioned that she had just seen Rick on Saturday in response to an article that had just been diagnosed with coronavirus. Katie didn’t seem to think she was in danger or at risk of catching it, but her Twitter followers begged to delay.
Shortly after, a controversial discussion broke out with many people prompting Katie to take a more proactive response. Although Katie tried to allay public fears, she eventually gave in and announced that she would self-quarantine for two weeks.
